Our mission as Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary is to proclaim that Jesus Christ calls all people to fullness of life. This vision unifies our mission and is present in all the variety of ministries that we undertake.
Today our diversity of ministries expresses itself in educational, pastoral and social services. We work in colleges and universities, secondary and elementary schools. RSHM serve in parishes and prisons, in hospitals and homes, in studios and social centers, in retreat houses and retirement homes. Some RSHM serve the congregation itself.
Action for justice is integral to our mission. Fidelity to the spirit of our founder Father Jean Gailhac and our foundress Mother St. Jean Pelissier Cure commits us to work against the forces that destroy life.
We respond to a variety of needs, always in service of those whose dignity is threatened. All our works are marked by the commitment to evangelical justice.
Today we are present in France, Ireland, Portugal, England, United States of America, Brazil, Italy, Wales, Mozambique, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Scotland.
Our Mission Statement today emphasizes our work for those "most in need of justice" and we are especially committed to the empowerment of women and children.
